Beauty queen hawks tomatoes at the market for birthday photoshoot (photos)

Kogi born Queen Nimat Siaka who was crowned Miss Curvy Nigeria Tourism towards the end of her national youth service assignment in October 2015, has released her birthday photoshoot which shows her hawking tomatoes in the Market. According to her, she chose to honor and encourage hawkers because they are the most important set of people: the unnoticed, the undervalued, and the under-appreciated MIGHTY ones Nigerians forget so easily. Read what she wrote below: A CREED ON MY BIRTHDAY  A taste of a well sweetened cake and a sip of fine tasty wine I crave. To be showered with flamboyant gifts and surrounded by the high and mighty, did I imagine. To be celebrated in front pages of newspapers, magazines, blogs, surely crossed my mind. But the reality is, it’s not now. It’s GONNA HAPPEN sooner and in the FULLNESS OF TIME…  I will get there not by hook or by crook but by work, by impact and by influence… I shall not be desperate; I shall not be intimidated; I shall not be stopped;

Read how this Pastor cum school supervisor molested a two-year-old pupil after teaching her sex education

A 46-year-old school supervisor,  Adegboyega Adenekan (pictured above), has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a 34 months old girl. Adenekan, a supervisor in Chrisland International School in Victoria Garden City (VGC) Lagos, was alleged to have defiled the girl under the guise of teaching her sex education. Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni, who paraded Adenekan yesterday at the command’s Ikeja headquarters, said the suspect was arrested following a complaint by the victim’s mother at the Ikeja Police Division. He claimed that preliminary investigation showed that the pastor defiled the girl, stressing that the suspect would be charged to court. Adenekan said he got a call from the pupil’s mother accusing him of defiling her daughter. The suspect denied committing the crime saying: “I am a teacher from that school; what happened was that on Friday,  November 11, I got a call around 8am from one woman and she identified herself as the mother of pupil

God has officially started yanking off the names of MMM participants, from the book of life - Facebook user

A certain Facebook user, Akande Thomas, has shared the experience of an MMM participant who claims God rejected his tithe from MMM earnings and clearly told him Christians involved in the scheme have had their names removed from the book of life. Read the narration below: The Reality of MMM. (From a participant)  When I was initially introduced to MMM, I went to God in prayer to seek for HIS approval. HE clearly told me that I cannot engage in it because those Christians involved in the scheme have had their names removed from the book of life. I was seriously troubled and at the same time afraid as I prayed passionately. As soon as I finished praying, I thought within myself ‘could this voice restraining me be of God?’. Just as I was meditating, another voice came saying; ‘It can not be of God but rather from the devil trying to tie you down in perpetual poverty for the rest of your life.’ So I quickly neglected the former voice for the latter.  I decided to try the scheme wi

They say Zahra Buhari’s wedding has been postponed

The wedding ceremony of Zahra, the daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, has reportedly been postponed. The ceremony, which was scheduled for this weekend, was moved as a result of President Buhari’s insistence on a low-key wedding for the 21-year-old bride to be, Daily Trust reported. It was gathered that the president is uncomfortable with the attention the media is giving to the wedding especially recent reports about the groom’s family presenting 30 Louis Vuitton bags to Zahra. It was widely reported that the groom, Ahmed Indimi presented 30 Louis Vuitton leather bags worth about £120,000 (N47,144,502) to the bride ahead of the wedding. An introduction ceremony between both families had earlier held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Friday, November 18, with the wedding programme scheduled between November 30 and Sunday, December 4, 2016. Indimi is the marketing director of Oriental energy resources.

Be Inspiired! Ex-UNILAG beggar becomes Lawyer

A former street beggar, Mr. Abdulsalam Idowu, heaved a sigh of fulfilment of a life ambition as he was called to the bar to start practising as a lawyer in Nigeria on Wednesday. Idowu, who defied all odds, to bag his law degree from the University of Lagos in 2015, had proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, where he emerged successful in the August/September 2016 final bar examinations conducted at the end of the one-year programme. The new wig, who engaged in street begging to fund his primary and secondary education,  was among the 4,225 graduates of the Nigerian Law School called to the bar in Abuja on Tuesday and Wednesday. Having lost his mother at about age three, crippled by a disease that befell him thereafter and left with a father and relatives who had no interest in his future, Idowu started begging at age eight in Erin Ile, Kwara State, to see himself through his primary and secondary school education. Against all odds, the 37-year-old had earlier in 2011 obtained a

Thursday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye ( Open Heavens 1 December 2016) – His Ears Are Not Dull

Topic: His Ears Are Not Dull [Thursday 1, December 2016] Memorise: Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. – Job 14:15 Read: Isaiah 59:1-3 (KJV) 1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. Bible in One Year: Exodus 10:21-12:42, Psalms 113 MESSAGE: Alienation or banishment is a form of punishment in which a guilty person is expelled from a region and forbidden to return. Alienation is commonly used by God in the Bible to cut off sinners from His presence. A good example is the banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden as a result of their disobedience to God. I pray that y

When your past calls, don't answer, it has nothing new to say.- Toyin Aimakhu!

Moments ago, actress and estranged wife of actor Adeniyi Johnson, Toyin Aimakhu posted this quote on Instagram. "When your past calls, don't answer, it has nothing new to say..."    Recall that Toyin faced the issue of infidelity while being married to Adeniyi Johnson. They separated a few times and resolved it, she however eventually quit early this year and refused to accept him back when it dawned on her that he won't stop cheating on her with his several side chicks.   Unlike Toke Makinwa who chose to hang in hers for over 12 years , Toyin moved on early enough.     Good quote there!

Awww...Elderly couple get wedding shoot after 74 years together (Photos)

Way back in 1946 when Ferris and Margaret Romaire married, they could not take photos at the ceremony. Fast forward to 2016, the 70th anniversary of their wedding, their granddaughter, Amanda Kleckley, felt it would be great to reenact the wedding pictures they missed out on the first time around. Everyone gets a second chance afterall, right? You've got to admire these oldies who still managed to project the perfect image of love and flaming romance 70 years after it all began. With the help of photographer Lara Carter, 90 year old Ferrisand his 89-year old bride, Margaret, got down to the shoot on Oct. 12 shoot in Pearland, Texas. Check him out looking good in a tux as his wife smiled beside him in her lavender gown and a veil. The couple smiled ear-to-ear as they snogged and sipped on some celebratory champagne. According to Lara, their photographer, “They are a beautiful example of what marriage is meant to be.” Speaking to Huffington Post, she adds, “They st

Teebilliz fully back on Instagram, jokes with BankyW over attempted murder

It's so glaring that Tiwa Savage's estranged husband, Teebilliz is fully back to social media after the suicide attempt scandal. So, some hours ago, R & B singer Banky W put up a picture of his exercise routine on Instagram and hinted that someone needs to charge his personal fitness instructor, Uzikwendu for attempted murder. Then Teebilliz showed up in the comments section. See the conversation below: It would be recalled that on April 28, 2016 Teebliz had attempted suicide in the aftermath of his Instagram rant about his sour relationship with Savage. He was rescued by his friends, like Banky W, Peter Okoye and others on the scene.

How prostitute robbed USA returnee of his gold chains, wrist watches and phones

A prostitute and an entertainer, both aged 22, who allegedly stole property valued at N1.6 million, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The prostitute, Emmanuel Carol and Precious Aboh, who claimed to be into entertainment, are facing a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and attempted murder.  The Carol resides at the Oshodi area of Lagos, and Aboh lives at No. 15, Olaore St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.  The prosecutor, Insp. 21 things I learnt from Toke Makinwa's 'On Becoming' Book

So I finally got my copy of Toke Makinwa's much anticipated 'Tell it all' story on Monday morning and yes, I was able to finish reading through the 112 pages in about two hours. Forget the excerpts we have been bringing to you since she launched the book on Sunday, the 21 chapter memoir has deeper revelations and I will summarize it in these 14 simple points below:   1. Why the Book was published... Toke Makinwa for the first time (and probably last time) gave all the details on her marriage scandal that happened last year. Unlike entertainer Tiwa Savage who addressed her own marital scandal by granting an exclusive interview with Journalist Azuka and selling it to Pulse TV, Toke Makinwa decided to address hers in a book. According to Toke, she was inspired to write the book after a friend gave her an instruction from the Holy spirit.  One morning, a friend reached out to me. She said that the Holy Spirit had instructed her to tell me to write about my expe

25 year old man gets his ear bitten off for challenging hemp smokers in Lagos (Photo)

One of the ears of a 25-year-old man identified as Tolani Ajisefini has been chopped off in a fight that ensued after he spoke against the smoking of Indian hemp in Mushin area of Lagos State. Ajisefini, a site manager, had lived with his parents on Olateju Street, Mushin, where the incident happened, before relocating to the Isolo area of the state. The victim is said to have been a regular visitor to Mushin where he has friends. Last Saturday, he visited his former house and saw some youths smoking hemp and cautioned them, insisting that they leave the place. A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Punch that the smokers ignored Ajisefini. The resident said, “They said he had left the area and had no right to dictate to them what to do and what not to do. “This resulted in arguments and later degenerated into a fight. One of Tolani’s (Ajisefini) friends also backed him and fought the gang members but Tolani, asked him to leave the matter to him alone.

I was almost frustrated in Nollywood but my passion surpassed it all- Queen Nwokoye

Queen Nwokoye has had more than a steady run in the movie industry since she joined in 2004.  She might not have been as prominent as expected in the beginning, however, Queen has continued to reign over the Nigerian home video and has remained relevant ahead of her peers by sustaining her relevance with hard work and a talent that can’t be overlooked. Speaking with BroadwayAfrica TV on why she never gave up even when odds were against her, Nwokoye said, “What brought me and what has kept me is my passion for the job. Money is good, the attention is good but I stayed because of the passion I have for it. It is a bit frustrating when you are doing something and it is like you are not being appreciated for it or recognized for it but the passion surpassed it, so I stayed. The rest is history.”

What a gift you are- 'Femi Fani-Kayode shades Toke Makinwa, writes romantic poem to his wife

Awww! Who knew Femi Fani-Kayode was this romantic? Well, it seems he wants to prove to Toke that there are still some good and romantic Nigerian men out there. Read the poem he wrote his wife Precious below... "From the hills of Ohafia and the valleys of Abriba comes you that makes me smile. From the forests of Umahia and the lush green fields of Nanka comes you that brings me joy. From the eastern shores of our nation where stars shine brightly and from whence comes men whose spirits cannot be broken comes you that gives me hope. From the lineage of those who dare to believe and from the stock of those who soar like eagles comes you that creates new beginnings. God brought you my way and has given me a new lease of life.
