will be honoured after the nation's success in France
this summer
An airport in Cristiano Ronaldo’s home city of Funchal will be
renamed after the Real Madrid star.
The 31-year-old captained Portugal to glory at Euro 2016 earlier
this summer and has already unveiled the Hotel Pestana CR7 in
Funchal - the capital of Madeira.
But now the president of Madeira, Miquel Albuquerque, has
confirmed that the former Manchester United forward will be
honoured after Portugal’s Euro 2016 success by having the city’s
airport renamed as ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Airport ’.
Ronaldo is currently on holiday in Ibiza ahead of Real Madrid’s
new season.
The forward has also been pictured wearing a knee brace as he
looks to recover from the injury he suffered in the first half of
the Euro 2016 final against France, which forced him to be
substituted before the break.
A prostitute and an entertainer, both aged 22, who allegedly stole property valued at N1.6 million, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The prostitute, Emmanuel Carol and Precious Aboh, who claimed to be into entertainment, are facing a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and attempted murder. Ezekiel Ayorinde, said that the duo stole gold chains, wrist watches and phones all valued at N1.6 million from Mr Darlington Ezenwaka on Nov. 15 at about 11.30p.m. at Church St., along Oshodi road, Oshodi, Lagos.
